Resolutions

Is it too early to speak of resolutions? I am peaking off a fresh purchase from Etsy (2009 Letterpress calendar) and so excited for 2009.

I am on this new kick about keeping promises to myself. I spent all of this past year keeping promises to others and living up to other’s expectations that I had nothing left to give to myself. This left me exhausted, depleted. In short: Unhappy. While it is important to keep promises to those you love, as well as those that you work with, sometimes this effort (which can seem limitless and unending) can cheat one person out of the deal: namely, yourself. I promise that in 2009 I will listen to my body, and the small voice inside of my head that has small electrical circuitry attached to my heart. I will:
1. Apply to Grad School.
2. Learn more about Letterpress and Book Arts.
3. Learn to sew and knit at Purl Bee! (And give knitted gifts by year’s end).
4. Organize my finances.
5. Volunteer for one cause: I am eyeing urban gardening or teaching literacy: adult or children.
6. Read more. A book a month.
7. Follow and delve into the life of one artist/writer. Any suggestions?
8. And last, but not least: Buy one pair of designer shoes to love and call my own.
I’m sure this list will change and grow…. This is my list, what’s yours?
