Spats

I’ve been noticing spats circling around fashion blogs as of late. I guess one shouldn’t be surprised since knee-caging gladiators were everywhere this summer. I like spats better than gladiators; they have a military feel and look totally rocking. And you can’t deny the S & M aspect. Binding yourself nowadays seems chic– why I wonder? T says he read an article where studies had shown that when the economy is spiralling downwards, clothing and accessories become tougher, harder and edgier. True or no? 

Either way, I kind of like the 19th century inspired look, updated into a glossy, leather and PVC calf cover. It’s kind of hot. Ok, it’s really hot.
